Chores at the Grove
You are newly brought into a pseudo-druidic monastery, where you will be learning how to use magic you didn't know you had. To earn your keep, you have to do chores, including sweeping. You're currently standing at the edge of the courtyard, shaded by the mezzanine above, sweeping the dirt and dried leaves off of the stone pavers. Summer light streams in through the columns to your right, where some druids are training with swords, wrestling, and magic. Now and then, you hear some peaceful chanting in the background, something you didn't expect when you came here. You thought it would be all rigid, somewhat militant, and gray. But the lush green in the courtyard, the fresh, gentle breeze, and the calming sounds of your new community are starting to make you think that, just maybe, this place could one day feel like home to you.
